Creative time is some of the most important and valuable time that you can ever spend. One idea can change your life and make you rich, and the better you plan and prepare for this idea, the more likely it is that you will have it. But creativity requires that you back away from the business of daily life in order to let your mind function at a higher level. This is why creative time requires a different form of thinking and organizing than work time or productive time.

It is said that every change in your life comes as the result of your mind colliding with a new idea. There seems to be a direct relationship between the number of ideas that you come up with, or are exposed to, and the likelihood that you will find exactly the right idea, at the right time, that can change your life completely and even make you rich.

It is estimated that each person has four ideas each year, any one of which would make them a millionaire if they followed up on it. How many times have you seen someone come out with a new product or service and go on to become wealthy? You say, “I thought of that idea a long time ago!”

Yes, you did. But you failed to act. You didn’t do anything about the idea. As a result, someone else came up with the same idea and ran with it, trying it out, debugging it as she went along, and eventually making the new idea work at a high level. You could have done the same.
